About NLA-I

NLA-I is an association of leatherfolk with a common philosophy embodied in our statement of purpose. You will find that we are a diverse group of people from all spectrums of society. Our diversity is our strength. We are a  pansexual organization with International Chapters.

The leather community has been under constant assault and we are motivated to fight for our right to live a safe, sane, and consensual lifestyle. We are proud to role-model the power and pride of all adults who live in the leather lifestyle. NLA-I supports individuals and organized political activism; and we strive to provide visibility and education in order to eradicate misconceptions about our lifestyle.

NLA-International is dedicated to the support and education of its members and their communities. NLA-International members and its local Chapter members support organizations striving to educate people on safe sex and supporting members of the community with AIDS. NLA-International also staunchly supports Domestic Violence Awareness projects. NLA-I continues to support the Leather Archives & Museum, an entity that strives to maintain records of the rich history and traditions of the leather lifestyle.

Joining the National Leather Association International is easy and fun. Perhaps the most important advantage is that you will belong to one of the oldest leather organizations that has been building our community since 1986. Your support will go to help provide education, resources, and a place to meet people with similar interests. Membership is an investment in your future and that of our leather and kink communities.

How Can You Benefit From an Commercial Membership?

• With a Commercial Membership, you receive four business card sized ads in “The LINK”, our membership quarterly publication, each year. The ad is free if you provide your own electronically ready ad! Or, for a low one time cost if you provide your information and we make your business’s re-usable ad (extra if the ad changes). Further, you have the option to pay for additional ad space/time beyond your allotted four ads. 
• Your contact data, if you wish, listed in our Annual General Membership Conference program.
• Your contact data/banner, if you wish listed at our web site. 
• Discount for a vendor booth at our convention Living in Leather (LIL). 
• Vote in elections and propose nominees for offices of the NLA-I Board. 
• A year’s worth of “The LINK”, our publication that reaches an international audience. 
• The right to use on your advertising, the statement: “ A business affiliated with the National Leather Association International.” 
• Are you a business with a storefront or a restaurant or bar? Consider putting out letter-coded NLA-I member application forms in your business place, which we can provide. For every 15 applications that get turned in to us in your stores letter-code, you will receive another three ads in “The LINK.” 
• Are you a business with a web site? Add a link to NLA-I on your website and receive another yearly ad in “The LINK.”
